Design for Communities is the result of a collaboration between the NGO LiveinSlums and designer Giacomo Moor, engaged in urban regeneration in Mathare, Nairobi. In the second edition of the project, after having designed and built the furniture for the dormitory of the Why Not Academy school in 2023, Giacomo Moor went to the Mathare slum to build the kitchen for the school canteen: a solid wood primary frame, structural but light, extremely flexible and exportable in different contexts.
