Et les yeux pour me dire
Armin Boehm paints fictitious and spatially impossible scenes, based on urban layouts and architectural constructions that are intended to evoke the inner human condition. In an interview by Gaston La-Gaffe in FAD Magazine, the artist stated: “The painted surface is vulnerable like our skin and looking at it reaches our emotional system in a very direct way". Due to his tiring personal journey he is attracted by the painted surface, capable of dealing with the unconscious and the emotions of the human being. The images, which sometimes they appear to be aerial views or ever-receding landscapes, exploring the idea of natural and artificial boundaries in geographical surfaces. His most famous works are large in size, composed using complex combinations of materials including fabric, oil paint, pure pigment, metal and sand.
Most of Boehm's paintings have dark palettes and depict night views with small light sources.
